Localisation
The Kasbah is located in the old Medina in Agdz village in the Draa valley. Located 45 minutes south of Ouarzazate, it can be accessed through a mastic road in the mountains.
The road from Marrakesh to the Kasbah is 5 hour long and takes you through the impressive Tichka pass. Taking this road is the beginning of your travel. You will experience multiple landscapes and climates and will discover Berber villages where people have been living in harmony with nature for centuries. This road has exceptional landscapes. Photography enthusiasts will be pleased ! You can stop at Taddart for exquisite food, which is an iconic spot along the road.
The Kasbah is located 6 hours away from Agadir and is accessed via a road taking you through Taroudant, Taznacht the Moroccan carpet capital city and Taliouine the traditional Saffron region.
Coming to the Kasbah is discovering the Berber culture for an unwinding and inspiring stay in the green Draa river valley. The Draa waters all the crops in the valley and the Atlas moutains around it. Various landscapes are the reflection of the Berber soul. The land there is welcoming, generous and intense with a way of life based on sharing, smiles and joy.

If you come by your own means, the address is: “Agdz center”. It is located along the national road 9.
If you arrive at Ouarzazate, Marrakesh or Agadir, you have multiple airport transfer options:
By taxi or air-conditioned minibus. We can also arrange a car hire for you. In each case, upon request, a member of the Kasbah can join you as companion to help you discover the region.
- Ouarzazate: We are located 1 hour away from Ouarzazate. The scenic road goes through the mountains.
- Marrakesh: We are located 5 hours away from Marrakesh through the Tichka pass road and Ouarzazate. The ride is pleasant with photo; lunch and tea break along the way. Landscape is magnificent and the Berber mountains and valleys are authentic.
- You can also take the old route to the Telouet Kasbah or visit the wonderful fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou. (more information on the “Day trips” page)
- Agadir: We are located 5 hour away from Agadir through Taroudant (the south little Marrakesh), Taznacht (Moroccan carpet capital) and Talliouine (Moroccan Saffron home).
Arriving at the airport in the morning is ideal, regardless of the city.

You can find a car hire by your own means. If you arrive in Marrakesh or Ouarzazate, we can book a car for you.
Yes you can have a driver and/or a companion from the Kasbah.
Most travelers staying at us go on day trips and have their lunch outside. For this reason, we do not offer lunch. You can order a take-away lunch the day before before 4pm.
Yes, you can. Half board includes a 3-course meal, drinks not included.
Adults: €20/day.
Children under 10 €12/day.
Yes, it is. The breakfast is hearty and gourmet and is included in the room rate.
No, we do not book flights. We can however look with you for the best arrival and departure times for your planned budget and program.
Yes, there is Wi-Fi in the common portions and on the terraces.

Yes, the weather can be cold and dry in the desert and the Draa valley. However, the warming sun shines in the blue sky during the day! The weather is cold and dry, which makes it bearable in the desert under a tent with a good sleeping bag.
- Yes, it can be very warm.
- During this period, we recommend mountain trips. The warmth is pleasant at our Oasis at 1400 meters high. You can sleep in the open, swim in the night, walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon with the sunset.
Yes it is.
The Kasbah is closed during the Summer. You should rather go to the seaside or in the mountains.
No it is not, but a strong natural ventilation keeps the house cool and temperate during Spring and Autumn. We can provide you fans and air fresheners in the house and certain rooms upon request.
Yes, it is. Every room and bathroom is heated. There is also a big chimney is the living room. You will never be cold at the Kasbah.
The Kasbah is located on the edge of the old Medina outside of Agdz. The thick rammed earth walls make is very quiet. Some rooms are quieter than others. You can find more details in the rooms descriptions.
Unfortunately, it is not because there are multiples levels and many steps.
